Today, I will tell you everything I know about Popoi. His strengths and weaknesses, His best builds, his playstyles, his best gear, his best pairs, his best team comps, etc., etc. take note that this is based on my opinions and based on my experience by playing the character.

Popoi is a 4-star Fire element Boomerang attacker. His weapon is Boomerang and its attack type is considered a slash type. As a boomerang user, it has its ups and downs. Popoi's AI is kinda good since it attacks from long range. The downside to this is that it is very slow, thus filling up your ST gauge will take some time especially if you are fighting a single boss or enemy. Those are just some minor downsides, Popoi is not all about that. What makes Popoi really good and why he standout from his other 4⭐ counterpart is that Popoi is a really strong hybrid DPS character. Some of you guys might not understand what a hybrid DPS means. A hybrid DPS character is someone who is strong at dealing physical and magical damage to the enemies. And Popoi is currently the best hybrid DPS character in the game right now.

Skills

His Special technique, Overhead fling, deals boomerang p.dmg and it is a 4-hit combos. This is Popoi’s greatest source of physical damage.

Popoi’s first skill, exploder, deals fire m.dmg and it is a 5-hit combos. This skill is popois great source of magical damage. This magic skill is really strong. Especially on the accessories dungeon, Popoi is truly a beast there. Magic damage dealers are usually kinda overlooked since their AI is kinda bad since most magical DPS in the game wields a staff, and staff users are melee attackers. And they are very squishy so they die really fast. Just to be clear, every magical DPS are good as long as you can control them manually, but when AI controls them, they're kinda bad. Popoi is an exception to this since his AI is not that bad since his attack range is long-range and not a melee type.

Popoi’s second skill, mana sprite, is a selfish buff that buffs his intelligent stat by 15% and his spirit stat by 20%. It's an okay buff. If you can unleash him then it's way better since it will increase further the int buff from 15% up to 25%. You should always use this first before you use his damaging skills. Take note also that entering a new wave in the stage cancels all buffs so even if the buff hasn’t expired yet on the previous stage. I don't know if this is proven to be true but this is just based on my observation. I have to rebuff every time I enter a new wave of a stage.

Limit Breaks

At +1, this gives Popoi ST a preemptive strike meaning its available already at the beginning of the battle.

At +2, this increases exploders level by 1, thus further increasing the damage that it can deal.

At +3, this unlocks Popoi’s support skill, this is for himself, on special technique, restore HP by 15% of Recovery. This support ability is really good. It gives Popoi some HP sustain kinda like a lifesteal passive from his special technique.

At +4, this increases mana sprite level by 1, increasing the intelligent buff from 15% to 25%. A 10% increase is good to have nonetheless.

At +5, this increases the special technique level by 1, thus further increasing the damage that it can deal.

At +6, this increases the support healing passive from his special technique from 15% hp healed up to 25% hp. This is huge. Really huge. If you can manage to get Popoi to this point, congratulations. He is that good at max unleashed.

Gear Recommendations

Apparently, both equipment dungeon really benefits popoi. Why? Because in the armor dungeon, you can farm the valsena set which gives a set bonus of 18% to strength and in the accessories dungeon, you can farm the maple set, which gives a set bonus of 18% to intelligent. For the armor sets, try to farm valsena sets with a good substats of str%, flat str, int%, flat int, luck for more critical hits, or even MP for more usage of exploder. For the accessories set, try to farm the maple set and aim for a int% main stat with good str%, flat str, flat int and luck or even MP substats. Know that farming gears are hell and its pretty tedious since the 5-star gears aren’t guaranteed to drop and they costs a lot of stamina. And you mostly get cucked by RNG to always give you the wrong substats or main stats that you don’t even need.

Memory Gem Recommendations

4-star Machine Golem Shuffle is pretty good as it has a pretty high intelligent stat and the passive is also pretty great as it increases your special technique damage.

4-star Little Spirit Faye is also good for Popoi. It has a balance strength and intelligence stat and the passive is also good since it increases your mega spirit magic damage by 30%.

4-star Rulers of the World is also another good memory gem for Popoi. It has great intelligent stat and its passive can help you regen your MP when you're off-field.

For more budget memory gems,

4-star Seamless Synergy is pretty ok since it has a good balance of stats overall. Passive is also ok but it's not recommended if you're fighting a boss fight.

3-star Xangar, Malevodon of Flame is also pretty nice since Popoi is a fire element and this memory gem compliments fire element users. Although it is leaning more towards the physical damage side.

Team Comp Recommendations

For team comps, as always you should have a tank, like sumo or duran, and a healer. If sumo is your tank, then you can opt not to use a healer and slot in another dps.

Popois best pair in my honest opinion is Julius. Not only Julius can increase popois intelligent stat by his passive skill, Julius can also debuff the enemies spirit since he is a spirit debuffer. The trick is that you switch to Julius 1st, spirit debuff the enemy, then switch back to popoi and spam exploder for more massive magic damage. This one is pretty good especially when your fighting a single boss battle.

In conclusion, I think popoi is the best 4-star unit in the game as of now. This is just me, I don’t know about you guys but I am convinced that he is that good.
